When Up graded to XP recently all the existing programs stayed on board.
I have been having wierd unexplained happeneings with Explorer and IE6 as my recent mail will testfy.
I have oinly just discoved the Xp has its own forewall which is active at the moment
So is also Zone Alrm from the previous incarnation
Will these two Conflict?
Should one be switched off?
If so which?

If you are running ZoneAlarm with the XP firewall running also, you will have confliction problems. Disable the XP firewall, and use ZoneAlarm. If you are on BB then your system may prove even more problematic with the two firewalls running.

Open Networks Connection in Control Panel, click on your ISP link and from Network Tasks click Change Settings of this connection.

On the Advanced tab under Internet Connection Firewall clear Protect my computer and network by limiting...etc.

It's not as good a firewall as ZA or similar, but the SP2 service pack for XP's version is claimed by Microsoft to be far superior.

However, it will be enabled by default so this should be remembered if and when anyone installs the new service pack (out sometime this month, next month, September, early 2005 etc)..:-)
