Hi all
at present i am on dailup and use the builtin XP firewall, am looking at switching to broadband and wonder if this firewall is up to the job or would it be better to install something like Zonealarm ? any idias cheers

If your happy with it now broadband won't change a thing.

Zonealarm is a good idea.

The XP firewall is basic (better than nothing) but Zonealrm is better.

Remember to install your antispyware also.

Adaware
Spybot search and destroy
Spyware Blaster
Microsoft anti spyware

And AV
AVG or
Avast (but not both)

For broadband I'd upgrade from Windows firewall, It's OK, but only one way protecting from incoming attack only, it provides no protection from any nasties that may be downloaded accidentally and then call out. Zone alarm, Kerio etc. are also free and provide two way protection.

MS Antispy+AVG or any free AV+any old firewall +a bit of common sense will stop anything getting onto your computer.
