firefox/google remove history

on the firefox start page which is google I have a whole list of previously selected items I`ve been told that I can remove these items by right clicking on a box and coosing " clear history" but where is this box can someone give me a few more details please?.

Its either in Edit>Preferences or Tools>Preferences, depending on the version of firefox, then go to the privacy settings you’ll see a series of boxes were you can clear the Cache, cookies etc., and there should a check box to click that toggles the storing of forms on/off, I forget the exact wording because I’m at work and not using FF at the moment, I’m stuck with IE, yuk, but it should be self explanatory when you look in privacy settings.

i dont know if firefox/google has similar functions to explorer, if they have, click on tools at the top click on content then auto complete and clear that, joel.

Thanks, I use the Linux version which is slightly different to the Windows version, so I was trying to cover both bases :-)
