Firefox update opens only one tab at a time - I want more!

Before a recent Firefox update I could have several tabs available for use. Also, if I closed the browser down and reopened it, the old tabs were still available to look at and it opened on the last window I looked. I have looked at Tools>Options, but can't see what to change. How do I organise this, please?

Also I can't go back to the previous page by clicking the top right arrow.

To have Firefox reopen as it was when it was closed go to Tools Options and on the General tab look for When Firefox starts and on the dropdown box to the right of that select "show my windows and tabs from last time".

Go back is top left and you cannot go back if this is a new page as there is nothing to go back to.

Clicking on the plus sign to the right of the first tab should open a new tab.

Tools -> Options -> Tabs, and make your choices

Problem solved. Many thanks all. I thought I had looked in the options box but obviously not. The 'go back' problem seems to have cured itself!
