Firefox & Thunderbird Locking PC

  harleyd 07:14 28 Feb 11

During the last couple of weeks Firefox/Thunderbird will lock up my PC, probably a couple of times a day. Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't function or appear & I end up switching off & on the PC to get going again. The PC's about 18mnths old, running Windows 7, 4g memory, 1tb HD, no other issues with it, I've run various scans, but nothing shows up as having caught a virus/malware etc, re-nstalled both Firefox/Thunderbird with no difference. Any ideas anyone?

Is your computer a 32 or 64 bit machine?

Currently firefox is 32 bit, but a 64 bit version is on the way, and if your machine is 64 bit this may be the problem.
