Firefox installation

Hi. I want to install Firefox but a message tells me that my security settings will not allow it. Any help gratefully received.

Check on the Tools menu in IE > Internet Options > Privacy tab and make sure the slider is set at Medium

Sea Urchin thanks. The slider is set to Medium already. Any further advice, or is Firefox not really worth the hassle?

I would say that Firefox is a good browser, preferred by many to IE. When you get the message telling you that the security settings are restricting the download is there an error number shown? And what Firewall are you using? It could be interfering.

There is no error message. It goes through the motions of installing then nothing.

I am using PC Tools firewall Plus.

Sorry northerngirl, I'm confused! You said in your initial posting that you received a message saying the security settings do not allow it. Are you no longer getting that message? And if you are going through the motions of installing then I assume you have successfully completed the download?
