Firefox hogging CPU

  hiwatt 11:43 05 Dec 07

Hi folks,I've just noticed that firefox.exe is fluctuating between about 3% and 75% in cpu.It was always round about 1 or 2,never more. There's been a couple of firefox updates in the last week.Is anyone else experiencing this?

It may be better to delete it run C Cleaner and reinstall the latest version 11.

Just out of curiosity did you download over the top of the old one.Or was it a clean install.

  anniesboy 12:06 05 Dec 07

Download was over the top of existing programme.

Will I loose all my saved pages(favourites)if I uninstall?I've got loads of pages saved.Thanks.

You should be Ok.You may loose your add-ons but you can always download them again. If you still have your favorites on I/E you can always import them from there on to Firefox. And thanks anniesboy for getting back to me.

Am I better uninstalling then reinstalling firefox or just download over the top of the one I have? Thanks.

If you are having problems with the one you have you may be better removing it and starting fresh. If on the other hand you are not using version 11. Just up-date it and see if that clears it up.
