Is Firefox faster?

  octal 18:59 09 Nov 06

Firefox updated itself last night and I'm not sure if it's my imagination but it seems to be working much faster than usual. Has anyone else noticed it?

I have updated but dont see any speed increase. However if you are on dial up maybe some simple optimisation has speeded your browser up.

Just tried Opera and this sit takes 4 seconds to load, whereas FF seems just a second or two. Opera was always the fastest on my system.

Sit = Site

I posted elsewhere that I'd noticed a distinct speed up in v2.0 over v1.5..

I didn't really notice much of an increase from v1.5 to v2 until the patch last night.

BTW, I'm not complaining ;-)

Hi Octal

I use Firefox and since updating to version 2.0 i find it a little slower,maybe this is because of no Prefbar that i had before updating.

Now trying the addon Fasterfox,already using the Firetune and that helps a little.

These addon's i used for the last version and made Firefox so quick.

With IE7 / Firefox 2.0 / and Opera 9.02 i still find Opera the quickest by a long way.

No patch here. Just checked for available updates and there are none?
