Mozilla's second Beta version of Firefox 2.0 has been made available at:

Might, however, be worth waiting as final versions usually appear quite quickly afterwards.

Thank you, but as you said, I'm waiting.

  rawprawn 11:50 01 Sep 06

Thanks for that, I'm a sucker for trying new versions.
I have just installed and it seems OK, not a great difference to 1.5.06.
I will see how it goes.

  Input Overload 11:54 01 Sep 06

Do your themes etc from version 1.5.0.6 still work?

  rawprawn 12:23 01 Sep 06

No most of them are gone, I think apart from the standard only Walnut & Whitehart remain. I never use te themes anyway.

There's more news about the latest Beta on this website's home page.

beta two has the "X" on each tab for easier closing of tabs,

  Stuartli 00:45 02 Sep 06

Saves a right click and then Close Tab...:-)

  dagwoood 03:15 02 Sep 06

"Saves a right click and then Close Tab...:-)"

Or a middle button click :)

Stuartli, as to FF v2.0 appearing soon, the release date keeps slipping back unfortunately. It's looking like the end of October/early November at the moment.

As X™ implies, let others try out beta versions and iron out any snags, hopefully all extensions will, by then, also work with the new version

  Stuartli 08:44 02 Sep 06

I don't have a "middle button", only a scroll wheel..:-)

Pressing it provides the auto up and down scrolling by moving the mouse.
