Hi, right-click on clear part of desktop, then left click on Properties then on Desktop - you should see the name of you desktop pic. Then you should find it in My Pictures or do a search for it.

Probably not a jpg. Try search for .bmp that's the file type Windows usually likes for savers.

hi, it comes up as "irfanview wallpaper"

no left click, and right click says "whats this"

hi, tried .bmp that came up as nothing, except a few dell logo's tried "irfanview wallpaper" nothing either.

It should be in your My Pictures. Or, if you open Irfanview? - I don't use Irfanview so I can't advise you about that.

Or do a Search for "Irfanview wallpaper"

Very very unusual to have an empty pics folder, usually another folder in there with Sample pics.

As a matter of interest, what is the picture on your desktop?

Have a look in your WINDOWS folder. All the wallpapers which come with Windows and any which you have added should be in there as a .bmp file.
Go to Control Panel/Display/Desktop
it should also be there.
Hope this helps
