Filter driver help required

Hi I am trying to solve a problem on a pc where word will not allow work to save.
Pc is windows xp professional and runs with norton anti - virus.

I have looked on microsoft website and I have a page with a solution. It's says there may be confliction between a file and systematic file or a veritas file which i understand.

But it also says could be a non - microsoft application using an outdated kernel - mode filter or a third party - system filter driver interferring with another filter.

If it is one of the above problems how would i go abould finding the conflicting filter. I cannot work out how to proceed.

Any help would be much appreciated!!!!!

I'm afraid this is a bit beyond me and I'd be looking at a simpler solution, if there is one. Have you got the original Word disk and if so have you tried deleting the program and reinstalling or checking to see if theres any updates to your Word to solve this problem?

It won't uninstall comes up with different error messages. I posted this on the forum about a week ago and there were no solutions given.

Basically word will not save the other office programs work fine. The pc has recently been restored but worked ok, problem has started recently.

I will run updates see if that helps. But any other ideas would be great!
