Files running in Task Manager

Having a browse around I found that Processes Running in Task Manager included many that when checked with the web site appeared to be put there by 'outsiders' and were described as Key Loggers, Trojans etc. However many also are legit files in System32 folder etc. How am I supposed to decide which can be removed and which left? Also, if they are viruses/trojans etc why are they not found by the various security progs? Any advice would be a great help, many thanks DGS

If you open Task Manager,Processes.Under CPU System Idle process should be showing about 97% if you have nothing running.Unfortunately Quite a lot of the programs running have similar names to virus and Trojan programs and if your security is not finding anything with your scans and System Idle Process is running at 97% then I think it is safe to say that the programs running in Task Manager are all safe to use.
