Filename ~ appearing on desktop

Upon closing down OE6 after sending email, a file with the name ~ appears on desktop. Norton 2003 with uptodate definitions announces me clear. When opening in wordpad the file appears to be a formatted copy of OE address book but the formatting is not picked up by any application when test opening in them. It stinks of virus - but what? A search of symantic's and microsoft's site finds no reference.

It's a bug in OE. Just delete it.

Thanks for the input - have been deleting it, but it's B***** annoying. Doesn't happen on my home computer, and that's fully updated from MS and it didn't happen on the old one at work. Assumed it was connected to address book from the way it appeared. Happy to know it's not from something linked in. Search in helproom for ~ never threw up the previous discussion. Sorry to bring it up again.
