File will not delete

  Crises 12:58 11 Apr 06

Hi, I hope someone can help with this problem.
I am running XP SP2.
I have downloaded a file (movie clip) and it will not open. After clicking on the file my system runs very slow.
I have tried to delete the file (safe mode)but it will not delete, a message pops up saying that the file may be in use with another program.
I used ctrl/alt/delete and it shows Win Explorer running at 99%.
There is no other program running, please help.
Many thanks.C.

I have looked at the Unlocker spec and it looks pretty good, better than the one I suggested.

I like the MD5 sumchecker provided with it.

Thanks to you and Vog.

Having used Unlocker (thanks to VoG™) on a number of occasions, I can confirm that it has not let me down yet. It displays the program which is using the 'undeleteable' file and gives you the option to end the process. A very good app..

Many thanks to Arnie and Audeal, your suggestions did the trick, the file is now deleted.
What a marvelous bit of software.
Big hugs (manly) all round.
