File size question

I use a piece of software called "PhotoCopier Pro"
to photocopy items. When photocopied, it gives me various options ie: print or save.
I usualy save. Now the 2 save options for me are either as a Tiff immage, or a PCX immage.
Tiff immage is 1,066 KB and the PCX immage is 186 KB.
Am I correct in saying that the PCX immage is much smaller and therefore would use less computer space.
What is the diference between the 2

Tiff = large file, less compression, better quality.

PCX = small file highly compressed data lost to shrink file, less quality but better for transmitting across networks
