File Page usage query

I have an Acer Apire 5050 laptop running XP Media Edition with a 60Gb HDD and 512 DDR2 RAM, 64Mb of which is for graphics. It was set at 128 but I though that was a little extravagant on behalf of the GPU so changed it in the bios. On the advise of one of the other threads about pre-installed programs taking too many system resources, I uninstalled all the redundant Acer tools etc but it still runs very slow most of the time. The performance tab in Task Manager says CPU is ticking over at about 2-5% but the File Page Usage is at constant 345MB. Is this normal or is something using memory it shouldn't. These reading are after a shutdown and restart so should not be memory leak from closed program.

Cheers, Garry

Hit ctrl+alt+del and click on the 'processes' tab this will show what's running and how much memory is in ues.
