Running window XP Home on a new PC. Within my folders alot of the file names have been coloured in blue rather than black fonts. Is there a reason for this and can I reverse it?

They are compressed files. Have you used Disk Cleanup which does just this?

VoG is right (as ususal) but why do you want to change them back? The files are just as accessible and usable as they used to be.

If you do want to change them back, open the file, select "save as" and change the name slightly. You can then delete the blue version.

No need to feel dumb mate, we have all been there.

just remember where to come next time you have a question, (you never know, someone might ask that same question in a couple of weeks and YOU can tell them.....)

then you won't feel that bad.

stick around mate, you would learn all you need to know on here (and probably a lot more).
