File converting software

Does anyone know of a really fast bit of file converting software to convert media files into DVD format so they can be played on a home DVD player.

I have tried using software such as 1click DVD movie, ConvertX, VOS and Magic Video. But they are just all so slow at converting.

I know it does take quite a bit of time to convert files such as WMV, avi etc.. But I'm talking hours here, which to me seems not worth the hassle if they are going to take that long to convert.

Thanks

You'll not get something like this done quickly. re-encoding video is a very time consuming business, it requires lots of RAM and a beefy CPU. Some VGA cards can take up the slack, but I think you'll need software that is capable of using spare cycles on the card.
