Fax - Win XP via Dialup modem

I use an external cable modem and I also have a PCI dial-up modem. After I moved to broadband I checked that the dial-up still worked as a backup and just left it there as a standby.

I now want to configure Win XP HE fax to work via the dial-up and I've added the Windows fax components. My problem is that when I open the Fax console and start the fax configuration wizard I get "There are no modems installed on this computer etc" It continues "Do you want to install a new modem?" Obviously I don’t want to as it’s already installed.

Device Manager shows the dial-up modem (no exclamation mark) connected to COM4, but Network Connections only shows my Ethernet NIC and my 1394 card - am I right in thinking the dial-up modem should also be shown?

I'd be grateful for any assistance.
