? Faulty Hard Drive

  ol blueeyes 14:37 04 Sep 09

Goodafternoon. Does anyone know of a programme I can run at start up to check whether a Hard Disc is OK or not. Preferably to run from a Floppy Disc like Disc Cloning
Thank you

If you can, why not connect the drive to a working PC & check from within Windows using Chkdsk click here. G

Drive fitness test from Hitachi click here will do basic tests on most drives although it promarily supports IBM/Hitachi drives.

This can boot from a CD or Floppy.

Most manufacturers provide test tools specifically for their own drives so its worth a visit to their web site.
