ive tried new uncopied discs, also a new mp3 player, im on music match but it still wont copy

the device manager says its working properly but it dosnt sound okay when you put a blank cd in, then the music match says no disc in drive

any way to check the drive with a programme or through xp to see if its working okay?

If you have XP installed, can you see a "Recording" tab if you go to "My Computer" and right-click on the drive's icon and choose "Properties"?

The brand name of your drive is not ATAPI - this is the correct name for EIDE. ATA, in turn, is the equivalent for IDE.

Okay then athenrye, go to the folder which contains the file or files you want to write to CD-R, select the file(s) and click on the "Copy to CD" option on the left pane of the folder. Then go to "My Computer" again, right-click on your CD writer's icon and from the context menu that appears, choose the "Write these files to CD" option.

a dialogue box then says
cannot complete cd wriring wizard
before you can begin you must copy files to this recordable drive
here a couple of ways to copy flies..........

any ideas, what am i doing wrong?
