Fatal Error (Halo)

Hi All,

Been trying to get Halo to run but keep getting a fatal error when trying to start the game.

The error that keeps appearing is :
Halo - Fatal Error

A problem occured initializing Direct3D. Hardware acceleration maybe disabled, please run DXDIAG.
Machine Info: 1900MHz, 1792MB, 384M ATI Radeon 9600 (0x4152)

I've checked DXDIAG and there are no problems to be found.
I'm running DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904).

Anyone have any suggestions ?

Other info that may be of use :
AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 1.92GHz,
1.75GB of Ram,
Sapphire Radeon 9600XT 256Mb DDR (AGP 8) graphics card,
Philips Dynamic Edge 4.1 PSC 604 sound card,
Win XP Home SP2.
