Can anyone please tell me what error is this because I keep getting it on my win 98se after about an hour of being on the blue screen comes up. I have been on the net and it all suggest its due to corrupt registry but I have sorted my registry and found no errors but still this comes up. It has 256mb ram with intel pentium 1.4ghz. Can anyone tell me why or what is causing this error and how to rectify it please. Thank you.

pj1664 i dont want to sound rude but its about time you got some newer gear as this software your running on is NOt supported...this could be the problem your having...

well the reason I am still running windows 98 is because my son have some games that are only compatable with 98 and it would be a shame to throw them away. I do have windows xp on my other computer.

could your games not be run in a later spec machine on a run in compatability mode?

Hi barca1, Thanks for the link I will try to run memory test see if that helps.

Hi johnnyrocker, I have tried some games will play in compatable mode and some dont and some just jerk, ideally 98 would be a best option.

OK run a memory test and found the memory to be in good condition.Therefor ther must be something else thats causing the error. Anyone with any bright ideas please dont hesitate.

Windows 98 BSOD

Reinstalling Windows 98 was always a yearly process (for me anyway) could be your best solution.

You could try installing Windows 98 (without formatting) over your current installation and see if that makes a difference. From memory it should keep all the settings, back up first and make a Windows 98 Start-up Floppy disk (just in case) if you choose to try it.

Hi Acx, tried reinstalling windows no difference, just dont know what is causing this!!!

If reinstalling Windows 98 has made no difference, then I would say its a Hardware problem.

Unplug everything that didn't come with the computer, reinstall windows and see what happens, after that It could be time to give it up I'm afraid.
