I am hearing great things about opera.
One question, do you have to do anything with ie6 (as in unistall)

iam using opera and ie6 side by side without problems when you first fire it up it will ask you if you want this as your default browser click yes and away you go

IE6 cannot be uninstalled anyway, unless you have Windows 98/ME and you use a program from LitePC.com to remove it.

In XP you're stuck with IE6, the uninstall item in Add/Remove doing nothing of the sort, just disabling it but leaving everything in place.

Opera works fine either way in all Windows versions and is faster.

Although Opera is great, it has problems accesing some websites. You will still need to use IE sometimes.
