fans and cpu's

I've wondered over this question for some time.
does your fan increase in speed as your cpu heats up? or can it be manually changed, and what is a "safe" temperature range for a 2.8 gig p4?

Fan only speed up if the bios of your motherboard support it, somthing like smart fan etc. Also some fans got thermal control and will change speed. IN UK weather, I would say under 50C, my P4 2Ghz runs at 35C and AMP XP2400 run at 42C in a small case.

If you want to control fan speed, you can use Speedfan click here
