False Positive from Panda Activescan?

  Batch 09:56 10 Jan 06

I've just installed that latest Zone Alarm (6.1.737.000) on a new laptop running XP SP2. Afterwards, I ran Panda Activescan and it reports a "Possible Virus" in C:\Windows\System32\Zonelabs\srescan.dll and C:\Windows\System32\Zonelabs\zlsreupd.zip[srescan.dll].

I would guess that these are False Positives, but does anyone else have this problem or able to shed some light?

srescan.dll (srescan) is a component from the software srescanner version 4.0.6 by Zone Labs, LLC. srescan.dll version 4.0.6 has a file size of 1,382,152 bytes, and is most commonly found under the directory "ZoneLabs" with a creation date of December 9, 2005. This is not a known spyware, adware, or trojan component.

Check the file details and if all seems ok then tell Panda.

It isn't the version in your 1st link (you can't believe all (much) of what you read on the net), but still would seem to be a false +. It's actually v4.0.9.7, created on the date I installed ZA (most if not all ZA files are like that) but still 1,382,152 bytes.

I installed the same version of ZA on another standalone box (not linked to other PC's or internet). This resulted in exactly the same files being loaded (I even did binary comparisons to make sure).

I'll endeavour to tell panda.
