Failure to boot WindowsXP Home

Over the past 8 months the computer has failed to boot on 4 occasions. Booting via Acronis I've received the following message - "hubC: connect debounce failed, port 2 disabled". Is this a hardware or software fault? Could it be I need to clear the laptop of dust - it's 2 years old?

USB problem

Uninstall and reinstall the USB root hubs in device manager.

Make sure you have the latest drivers especially if a VIA chipset 4 in 1 drivers at click here
