Failure to boot WindowsXP Home

  nutcrusher 22:18 28 Oct 05

Over the past 8 months the computer has failed to boot on 4 occasions. Booting via Acronis I've received the following message - "hubC: connect debounce failed, port 2 disabled". Is this a hardware or software fault? Could it be I need to clear the laptop of dust - it's 2 years old?
Thanks for all help.

I will wait for a quiet moment and apply your solution and assume this will solve the problem.
