I have a new name and email address. as I only look at Facebook not participate.

How come with a name such as cycle they come up with names that could be my friends. Names and faces that I do know but have not contacted in the past on my PC never mind facebook?

Cookies on your computer are probably the first way (amongst others) that they use to track you, a cookie will remember who's pages you have looked at (and therefore who your friends are most likely to be). A bit like Amazon who can show you your recently viewed history days later, even though you didn't log in.

If you have logged in to Facebook in then it’s even easier for them to keep track of what you do.

Perhaps they are friends of people you have already added as friends on Facebook. These are called Mutual Friends so that's maybe why you're getting suggestions.

If you have friends on Facebook, they will have friends who also have friends, who also have friends etc etc,so it leads back to you.
