Hi i've just finished a new build but I have two case fans each with male and female molex connectors without any spare psu connectors. Can anyone recommend a solution?

If they are the dual connectors that I have seen before where one side is male and the other side is female then you use them as follows.

1. Remove a power cable from a device.
2. Plug the appropriate end of the fan power connector into the device.
3. Plug the power cable into the other side of the fan connector.

This is commonly termed as a piggy-back connector and doesn't need any extra connections from the PSU as it fits between a device and its existing power connector.

You need to remove the male Molex connector from the cd rom drives connect the male

Molex connectors from the fans into the cdrom drives and connect the male Molex

connectors from the power supply unit into the female Molex connectors from the fan

Leave the hard drives male Molex connectors, connected to the PSU

If I only have one cdrom drive should I still definitely not use the hard drive?

You can but seeing that the hdrive is the unit that is always running you should not ready add any item that can reduce the supply from the PSU

You can double the plugs to the cd rom drive connect

both fan via the lead to the drive
