can i take my external harddrive anywhere to be mended . i relied on its automatic recording of my stuff. its very important as my pc is getting very old . who would b e able to copy it or whatever? linda

I would suggest you avoid PC World and look for a local computer shop or repairer. Even if your HD is not repairable, it may be possible for the repairer to copy the files onto a new hard drive for you.
