External drives

A friend needs an external drive for his laptop so that we can save spreadsheets from it onto floppies - where is the best place to get one and what ports do they connect to?

Has the laptop USB capability, if so click here

You may also like to consider a USB pen drive, similar in price to the external floppy for a capacity of 128MBts click here

I like the pen drive, basically an ipod without playback!

What do I do if the laptop does not have USB?

Almost all such devices are USB. You may be able to find an old Serial External Floppy Drive, if you search hard enough.

I've had a quick look and so far, nothing.

The only other solution that may be viable, is a direct cable connection from the laptop to a PC and then copy to media of your choice. Long winded way of going about it though!
