Exploring old Outlook Express Files

  sheila.weston 10:42 11 Oct 06

I have two hard disks in my computer and wish to go through some old *.dbx files which are stored in a separate folder on the backup drive D:\ without upsetting my current files. The folder which contains my current files are on the G:\ drive. After renaming the files to OLD.dbx, I have tried opening OE and creating a new folder, then trying to import them from the G:\ drive folder, but it doesn't work - a message comes up saying that another application is running which uses the files, but no other programs are open..

Is there any way in which I can do it by dragging and dropping? Dragging to the folder onto the G drive doesn't work, but I feel that it should!

Thanks, as always.

I have never got the hang of bringing .dbx files back into OE!

I use a program called OE Viewer from click here (go to the page and scroll to the bottom for the freeware), which opens the .dbx files to enable me to view old messages, in my backed up .dbx files.
