I am running Win XP Pro.
I use my computer quite a bit and usually leave it on overnight. If it has been on overnight, eventually it starts running increadibly slowly on pressing Ctrl Alt Del, it shows that explorer.exe is using between 80-90MB RAM and c.97% CPU. Anyone know what's happening?

click here and scroll down to explorer.exe for a little more information, if not exactly an explanation.

Sounds like a memory leak from another program into explorer.exe to me.

Check all of your startup / background programs and services carefully.

A methodical process of elimination is the only sure way to catch the culprit.
