Explorer Home page replaced by anti virus company

  stinkeypete 16:44 13 Feb 07

During a innocent piece of browsing I accidently clicked on a popup. Since then I cannot use the home button my Internet Explorer 7. Also it is restricting me from most web sites.

I have been onto the hard drive and removed all mention of anti virus programs, except AVG which I use.

How can I get my PC back to normal?

Which anti-virus?

The name of the antivirus company is not very clear at all on the home page.

It is trying to get me to sign up to their service.

I am at work now. I can find out more information later about the web page.

It also has affected certain other sites I use.

I've asked the FE to delete the link to the webpage to be safe.

given the indications of infection from the link I just hovered over it; the google link gives a fair idea of what is instore;

Thanks a lot. I will try it tonight and let you know.
