explorer encounters problems

hi its me again - same pc different problem (compaq presario with windows xp sp2) the problem this time is when im browsing my files using "My Computer" it always freezes and goes unresponsive, then after a minute(ish) a message comes up saying "windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. any unsaved information will be lost" then when you press the close button windows explorer obviosly closes and when it does it basically has the effects of loging off and logging on again quickly (ie reloading the system tray and closin all programmes that were previously open) any help would be greatly appreciated

Start, Run, type

sfc /runnow

and click OK. You may be asked to insert your Windows disk.

i have run this command and still no better

try a scan with
