Hi, I did reinstall of winxp on a 3100c desktop, every thing went ok I installed the drivers, but when I went into device manager to check , I had a Exclamation mark over pci controler or was it driver, I don't have the pc with me now ,as I was doing the reinstall for a friend, I got online ok with the 3100c, through my router, I took to his house and installed the modem for pipex , It installed ok but I couldn't get online, it kept saying connection failed, could this be due to the pci controler or driver Exclamation mark.

In my limited experience it means the device is not installed correctly, and is usually a fault with the driver. Your friend may have a separate disc with drivers on it to rectify this problem. If not you will have to interrogate Windows disc, or find your way to manufacturers website, or sometimes Microsoft. Hope this helps
