thanks, but rows 2 to 500 contain different figures in both columns.

(£2.50 * 2 = £5.00
£1.00 * 6 = £6.00

It doesn't matter that you have different values. You are copying the formula not the values.

If after you have copied the formula down the 500 rows the values have not calculated, you must have manual calculation (rather than automatic) enabled.

Press F9 and your values in column F should recalculate for the 500 rows.
