I have a report to do:-

Column A - Date
Column B - Description
Column C - Agent Number
Column D - Quantity

What I need to do is change the agent number to a name i.e 9 is Darren, 10 is Lee etc there may be a 1000 rows so is there a formula that will find all the 9's and change them to Darren for me? Thanks.

You need to make a table with numbers on the left, names on the right. Say this goes in Sheet2!A1:B10.

To lookup value 9 and return Darren

=VLOOKUP(9, Sheet1!A1:B10, 2, FALSE)

or you can nreplace the 9 with a cell reference e.g. C11.

=VLOOKUP(9, Sheet2!A1:B10, 2, FALSE)

Or better if you are going to copy the formula down from say E2

=VLOOKUP(C2, Sheet2!\$A\$1:\$B\$10, 2, FALSE)
