Can anyone explain to me how to put into a spreadsheet an invoice number that automatically advances by one each time you create a new invoice.

Press ALT+F11 to enter the Visual Basic Editor. Insert | Module. Enter the following code which assumes that you want the invoice number in cell A1.

Sub Auto_Open

Range("A1").Value = Range("A1").Value + 1

End Sub

Exit the VBE. Each time you open the saved workbook the number will increase by 1.
