Excel problem

I am working a shift that crosses the Dateline.

e.g. I start at 16:30:00 and finish the following morning at 03:00:00. To work out the hours worked I use the Formula =MOD(J3-I3,1)

Now I wish to work out the Earnings per Hour.

Logically this would be =Shift Sales/Hours Worked, however this does not seem to produce the correct answer.

The question ~ What Formula should I be using?

What am I missing?

Try

=Shift Sales/(Hours Worked*24)

Multiplying an Excel time by 24 converts it to a decimal time in hours.

Thinking about it now, hindsight is a fine thing, isn't it, I should have been able to work that out.

Had I divided the Answer I got, with the one I knew I should have got. I'm getting idle in my dotage.
