Excel number formatting

Hi - can someone please tell me how I can enter a currency figure (an odd number, like £157.95) in a cell, then in the next 2 adjacent ones, show 50% in each cell.
As in A1 = £157.95, A2 = £157.95/2 and A3 = A1-A2. This gives me £78.98 in each, but I want it accurate, as in £78.98 and £78.97. I've got all the columns formatted to 2 decimal places.

It does make a difference in a very large spreadsheet! Thanks
