Excel - negatives in brackets?

  Neilly 00:46 27 Aug 03

If I type in a negative figure, how can I set it to automatically appear in brackets?

Thank you

It can't be done I'm afraid. "-" is all you can achieve. By the way it is the same for all. The only time you will see brackets is on a prepared accountancy report.

I stand corrected.

Neilly, a thousand apologies.

Sorry Mango, didn't notice your reply :O(

I didn't think it could be done either and then I saw that thread. Then again, that's the beauty of this Helproom.
