Trying to work a formulae out using the IF Function. One question on the IF function, how many arguments can be entered into the IF function?

If you mean how many levels of nesting can you have, the answer is 7.

Otherwise we need more information.

Thanks VoG™, that answers my question perfectly. Will have to find another way around the problem.

You can have a set of seven IF's nested, but the last IF can refer to yet another cell that carries another set of seven IF functions (relative to the first set)- and so on.

If you need more help with this please contact me atclick here

It is possible to write IF statements in such a way that they resolve before the 7 nested levels come in to play.

Thanks VoG™, much appreciated.
