I have a text formula which reads

="This amount"&Sum(a1:a2)

But it gives me

This amount 160.01254662224

How do I adjust the formula so it shows 160.01. I can't number format it because its a text value/formula. Formatting a1 and a2 to 2 decimal places has no effect.

VoG would probably give you a tidier answer if he was around, but you could try this to be going on with.

Put the text "This amount" (without the quotes) into a cell of it's own, for this example I'll use cell C1. Then use this formula in the cell in which you want your answer to appear.

=C1&""&ROUNDUP(SUM(A1:A2),2)

There is a space between the quote marks in the formula, either I forgot to put it in or it's not showing too well.

Thanks MAJ, it worked and shows as 2 decimal places.

You don't need to put the text in a separate cell.

I used

="This amount"&" "&ROUNDUP(SUM(A1:A2),2)

that's much tidier, I guess I was playing around with it too much, lol. Glad you got it sorted.
