I have a column of figures that require uppping by 10%. I have done the first number (A1) which is 17.77 by =17.77+10%. Now I can't get the balance of the column to increase by 10% by pasting. How do I do this without the bother of opening another column? Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or is there no other way than to open a second column and paste an = formula.

Put the number 1.1 in a cell. Then copy that cell.

Now select your column of numbers, Edit, Paste Special and tick the Multiply operation.

easiest way.

insert a column next to column A.

Enter in cell adjacent to A1 (possibly B1)

= a1*1.1

Put the cursor on the bottom right hand corner of this cell, the cursor will change to a '+'

Drag this down all the cells in the column and this will insert the correct formula into all the cell.

done!
