Excel formula

I wish to create a ready reckoner table in excel which converts pounds and ounces into kilograms and grams
I need to do this for values between 1.5 lbs and 32 pounds with intervals on one ounce(eg I lb 8 ounces= kg/gms; 1 lb 9 ounces = kgs/gms etc)
Given that one lb = 453.5 gms and one ounce = 28.3 gms, is there a forumula that I can use in Excel(2002) to get this done easily? Already available reckoners on the Net do not go up to 32 lbs; Internet available converters are not an option where this data is to be used.
Any ideas welcome

Take a look at click here and the CONVERT function.

I don't think convert() handles pounds.

What you can do is just use simple maths.
Put your pounds in column A, ounces in column B and replicate this formula in column C

=INT(((A1*0.45359237)+(B1*0.45359237/16))* 1000)

It will give you the result in gramms.

CONVERT handles pounds and ounces, e.g.

Thanks to VoG and PaleoBill.
I tried the simple math solution first-and it worked vry well. Only bother is to have the cell designation in the formula when moving up from one pound weight to the next.
Have downloaded the solution from the link supplied. Havent been able to get the Convert function to work yet --need to spend more time. Unfortunately no examples with a spreadsheet on how to actually use the control function in this conversion.
Thanks -you have been most helpful

To use CONVERT, if you have a version of Excel prior to 2007, you need to go to Tools > Addins, tick Analysis Toolpak and click OK.

Will try it out
