I am trying to create a training diary for my cycling activity using Excel. I have two columns containing data for distance in Kms and time in HH:MM format. How can i create an average spped in a third cell from these two pieces of data.

Column A, Distance in Kilometres

Column B, Time in Hours and minutes (Format Cells as "Custom" format hh:mm)

Column C, enter formula "=(A1/B1)/24" - change the row number to top row of your data, I don't know what headings you have)

Copy Column C cells down as required.

The result in C will be the average speed for each trip.
