Excel - errors on opening or closing

Using 2007 version of Office.
Definitely not experienced with Excel.
Can find my way (just) when I'm sent files to for information.

On opening Excel I have a small window which titled Microsoft Visual Basic
says -

Compiler error in hidden module AutoExecNew
Pressing the cynical OK clears the message and allows me to continue.

On exiting Excel I get exactly the same message but the error this time is Dist Mon.

I have used it like this since I updated Office, so far it is just a nuisance but I really should learn to use Excel properly and this is no way to start. I think I have tried reinstalling but that was a year or more ago

A cure please?

The dreaded Adobe - click here

I'm as certain as I can be that you have nailed this.
Don't want to bother making the corrections today but will tick this anyway.

Adobe has a lot to answer for and with a broad based computer I have to let Adobe loose from time to time, but wherever I can I ignore updates as far as I think sensible.

Thanks again, Brilliant!
