I have a list of 10 names in Column A (A1:A10) and a corresponding list of those people's favourite colour in Column B (B1:B10). If Bob's name is chosen, can I get his favouite colour, from Coloumn B, returned in another cell, C1, for example?

I'm not sure what you mean by "chosen".

=VLOOKUP("MAJ",A1:B10,2,FALSE)

You never cease to amaze me, VoG™, of course you've hit the nail on the head again, that's working perfectly. Many thanks again, VoG™. :-)
