Excel 97 - Formatting Cells with Euro Currency

I was wondering if I could get some advice.

I am currently looking for a patch or add-on for Microsoft Excel 97 and the ability to be able to format cells with the Euro currency symbol. I did download an add-on from an Office website that added the euro symbol to the toolbar in Excel. However when using this it sets the decimal places to 2, if you change this through format>cells you loose your euro symbol. Obviously this isn't ideal because you can’t have one or no decimal places using the euro symbol. The only other way around this is to individually type the euro symbol in each cell.

Can anyone help????

Thanks in advance

I don't have exel 97 to try this but....

Go To format / cells then select custom and 'build' the euro format you require!

If you click on the toolbar buttons to increase or decrease the decimal places, the € formatting "sticks".

To type or insert the Euro symbol, hold down the Alt key, and type 0128 on the numeric keypad.

Formatting can be done using normal means and you can choose how many decimal places you want, or not as the case may be.

If you want a formula to convert any other currency to Euro, it depends very much on the exchange rate of the day.

Everything you even wanted to know about the Euro in tandem with MS Office is here:
